Lora Ayers Photography bio picture
  • Hi! Welcome to the blog of Lora Ayers Photography. Here you'll find some of my favorite images from engagement sessions and weddings, as well as stories and pictures of my fun little family.

I always knew that I wanted to be a mother, but photography came as a surprise. It started with taking pictures of my children, and then I ventured out into the world of weddings which has since become my passion. I have been blessed so much by all of the wonderful couples that I've met, and I am truly grateful to be doing something that means so much to me. Thank you for looking at my work, and feel free to contact me for more details. ~Lora Ayers

Lauren & Elliott: Wedding

I complimented Lauren on the beautiful white lace that wrapped the stems of her bouquet. Then her mom told me of how it was taken carefully from her wedding dress that she had worn when she married Lauren’s Dad. I was amazed at how beautiful the lace was after twenty something years , and also at the thought and love that went into including it on Lauren’s wedding day. Then Kelly brought over the shoes,  oh my gosh…I loved Lauren’s purple shoes! I have to admit I’ve been so lucky this year with my brides fabulous shoe choices! Lauren’s invitation also had purple on it, and the bridesmaids wore purple flip-flops when not in their heels.

Lauren and Elliott chose to have a first look before the ceremony and it went perfectly. Not only did it give them plenty of time for pictures, but it gave them an intimate moment with just the two of them, and it was so sweet when he turned around and saw her for the first time.

The lovebirds danced the night away surrounded by tons of friends and family, a true testament to how awesome these two are! The Venue they chose for the reception was The Metropolatin Club in Alpharetta. It was modern and gorgeous, and the staff was fantastic to work with.

Lauren and Elliott,  I loved your wedding and I’m so happy that I got to be a part of your day, thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer!

Many thanks to my good friend Kelly Lane for assisting me.

Deborah Zoe - awesome capture on that last dancing photo! And those purple shoes are to die for:) great job as always:)!

Evie Perez - My beautiful friend, Lora who I dearly miss, you did an AMAZING job!!!! I love these pictures and I love her shoes. You truly captured this wedding in an amazing way :) My favorite picture is the one where Lauren is leaning on Elliot’s sholder and the last picture of them dancing. Love Ya!

FYI: I don’t usually share much on here about my personal life, because I doubt that anyone would read it. Confesssion: I check lots of blogs and I don’t always read the words, most of the time I go straight to the pictures (oops, did I just admit that).    So, if you actually read this, please say hi in the comments…please?  ok, here goes.

The latest, in a nutshell;

Friday I shot an amazing wedding (a favorite song by The Cure comes to mind).   Remember Lauren & Elliot’s engagement session?   It was their wedding, and boy was it fun!   I can’t wait to share!

Saturday we had the house re-carpeted…this took 13 hours!

Sunday morning we had a Merry Maid come over, holla!  She stayed all day.   Our house was just that dirty.

Sunday at 1pm we had a birthday celebration for Alex who turned 3, and it was awesome!  He loved his cake, and ALL of his candles.  We had a #3 candle and then a bunch more for fun.  He had to have a little help from his siblings.

Sunday evening we left our family home, and started driving to,  dun dun dun…did you notice the tagline for my blog when you pulled it up??

Here’s a hint, this morning we ate waffles in a hotel.   The waffles were shaped like the state of Texas.  They were yummy,  AND shaped like the state of Texas, did I mention they were shaped like the state of Texas?

Yes, it seems that Aaron in all of his hard working glory has found himself a great opportunity here in Dallas Texas ( a “big deal” kind of promotion), and well, we’re moving, actually we’ve moved.    We’re in temporary housing for the next 3 months.  New schools, and in 3 months..new house, and then probably new schools again.   I love an adventure, and this is definitely an adventure.  A Texas shaped one.

Because pictures make blog posts better , and because he’s cute, and 3, and because this blog post is titled waffles, and he’s eating a waffle….here’s my super fun, super cute Alex!   I can’t kiss him enough.   I think my lips are wearing thin from all the kissing, or is that because I’m 33….oh my gosh, I’m old.

Katy - The Batts/McDougald wedding pictures are absolutely beautiful! I was most impressed with the comando style crawling you did to get some pics! :) Thanks for capturing this special time for our families!

I’m glad we were fortunate enough to get you before you headed west to the Lone Star State! I can tell you that 8 bridesmaids are gonna be very very sad :) They loved you! Thank you for sharing your gift
God gave you and making a most special day memorable! God Bless and kiss those babies…they grow up too fast!

DanaOh - Hi. It’s not Friday, but I’m in love… always with your words and photography. You’re awesome, but not in Georgia anymore! Holy cow! I thought I’d meet you someday, bein’ that we’re neighbors and all (FB friends too). Good luck in your new state. I have a friend who’s right behind you, moving from Alpharetta. Why y’all leaving us for Texas?!? ;) You’ll have to tell us if it’s really bigger and better!

Janine Sept - I would read anything you wrote Lora! I say MORE posts like this ~ helps people know what an awesome, funny and caring person you are!

Tery Savoy - I love this post. You will have to do more of this type of blogging so those that are in Georgia can still keep up with the “Texans”. Miss you girlie!

Evie Perez - I love this post and I love Alex!! He is so adorable. I am so happy that you are with your family and can’t wait to read all about your great adventures in the gran ol’ state of Texas :)
