Lora Ayers Photography bio picture
  • Hi! Welcome to the blog of Lora Ayers Photography. Here you'll find some of my favorite images from engagement sessions and weddings, as well as stories and pictures of my fun little family.

I always knew that I wanted to be a mother, but photography came as a surprise. It started with taking pictures of my children, and then I ventured out into the world of weddings which has since become my passion. I have been blessed so much by all of the wonderful couples that I've met, and I am truly grateful to be doing something that means so much to me. Thank you for looking at my work, and feel free to contact me for more details. ~Lora Ayers

WPPI Road Show, Words of Wisdom, and Monster drinks.

Last year I attended the WPPI Road show Atlanta, and I can honestly say that the Dallas one this year blew it out of the park.  I’m a crier, no doubt, but when I cry at a speech you know something moved me , like really moved me….gosh I’m so sensitive.  I must’ve cried 4 times yesterday during Joe Buissink’s presentation.   WOW.  I’m hesitant to try and summarize what it was about because I’m afraid I won’t do it justice.    The guy is a straight shooter, literally.  He shoots straight from his heart, in his speech and in his art.   He’s a wedding photographer of celebrities..think Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, and Christina Applegate  (just to name a few) and he showed up in a T-shirt and jeans and basically started at the beginning of his life, and told us his incredible story.  His story is not like most, and in fact is shocking, but he didn’t mind sharing it with a room full of strangers.   How he brought his life story around and related it to how he shoots today was eye opening.   AAAAH…so so so glad I went, and I was truly honored to meet this incredible man.

I took notes, and you know it’s good If I took notes. When it was over I had to meet him and thank him.  He greeted me with the warmest hug.  He didn’t worry about looking stupid for hugging every single person who came to meet him and get a photo-op.  He wasn’t thinking about himself , he was thinking of us.

a few words of wisdom…Start from the heart, make it about the passion.

I was also happy to meet these two fun people…David Edmonson and Dixie Dixon.

Last but def not least, The Boudoir Divas. Could these girls look any cuter, and could I look any more dorky and excited?

Now , about those Monster Drinks, they are yucky aren’t they ( I think I’ll stick to my Americano’s)??    I bring this up because I just tried one today. It was the blue one that my designer recommended….huh? what’s that you say? OH! You want to know about my designer??? OKAY! I’m so excited to share that Nikki Nuckols from Doodle Dog Advertising is working on new branding for Lora Ayers Photography…. and things are gonna start looking good around here! SO EXCITED!!!!! SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED! How have I made it this long without a website? Pure luck, I’d say. Keep your eyes peeled!:)Here’s a pic of the Gorgeous Nikki herself. She’s the beauty on the left. This photo was taken by the talented Beto of Lindsey Joy Photography at last week’s Thursday Therapy (Lindsey Joy, Beto’s wife, is the gorgeous girl on right).   Look at my new friends (I’m such a 1st grader!)  ;)

Kelly Lane - Awh I wish I was there with you! Looks like it was great and you’re meeting awesome people!

Lindsey Joy - Yay for new things, new friends, and a new city! We are glad you’re here! Welcome to Dallas, I’m so glad we’re friends! :)

Happy Birthday to Noah!

Happy birthday to my first child, Noah! He makes me feel like I’m the luckiest mom in the world! Everyone that meets him loves him. All his life he’s been the type of kid that doesn’t mind talking to adults (or anyone who would listen). He tells stories with his hands and his wide open big blue eyes. Embarrassed is not a word that he is familiar with. He’ll be the sole dancer on a dance floor in a room full of strangers without hesitation, and he’ll quote the scriptures Luke 8-14 during a Christmas Program in a huge church and think nothing of it (He was 4 by the way).

We love you Noah, and we are soooo proud of you!! It brought us so much joy to see that you loved your NINTENDO DS that we finally got you!!

Just a few of his favorite things; comic books, video games, french fries, swimming.

He’s fun.
I love his blue eyes, shaped like his daddy’s.

Some fun shots of him swimming!  :)  He and Abby thought the last one was pretty funny, so I had to post it.

Kelly Lane Lusk - I LOVE your creativity in these! Especially the first one and where he is reading the magazine! Happy Birthday Noah!

Michelle Cross - I’m always so amazing by your pictures. These are so, so, so precious!

joyneville@yahoo.com - GIRL THESE ARE AWESOME!!!! They turned out great! you ROCK!!!

Lorri - What a beautiful little guy! Hoe fun is it that you can take amazing pictures of him any time you want? I am lucky if I can catch one good one out of 100. I have tried to understand the ISO button, etc, but I am struggling! Hope all is well!
